Mite Guard Cotton Mattress Encasement, Cot Sizes

A zip-on cotton encasement that fully encloses your child's cot mattress, under the usual fitted sheet. It is made in New Zealand in three cot sizes: 120 x 60, 130 x 69 and 132 x 76 cm. Why we chose it: it is untreated 100% cotton in a very tight weave, about 3.5 microns between fibres compared with roughly 300 microns for ordinary cotton sheets, the maker states. It has no plastic membrane and no chemical finish, and a YKK zip with an internal flap closes it. The maker advises confirming a dust-mite allergy with a skin-prick test before buying. How it fits your day: part of setting up your baby's sleep space in our Help pēpi settle to sleep guide. Fit it snugly so the mattress stays firm and flat, and keep the cot bare: no pillows, bumpers or loose bedding. • Untreated 100% cotton • Hot wash (over 55°C) weekly; tumble dry
